Mark Shelley, President and CEO

Mark Shelley is the founder and president of Land Equity Solutions, Inc. He is a local building industry veteran and former Vice President of Land Acquisition and Entitlements for a Fortune 500 homebuilding company. He has successfully negotiated the purchase and sale of over 2,300 +/- lots, and more than 200 acres of mitigation land. He possesses a deep understanding of the California entitlement process and experience implementing win-win solutions for problems in various jurisdictions. He is an expert troubleshooter and negotiator, identifying complex issues and implementing creative solutions.

Additional skills and experience include:

  • Established relationships with builders, developers, land brokers, landowners, political and governmental officials, and title companies so that clients are consistently placed at the forefront of all acquisition/disposition opportunities and market information.
  • Experience in assessing all area marketing and financial requirements, land values, development costs, political issues, environmental constraints, consumer trends, and major issues associated with development of potential land purchase and sale.
  • Entitlement experience managing and coordinating project consultants throughout entitlement, budgeting, engineering, architecture development, permit processing, as well as scheduling of the land entitlement process from due diligence through project approval.
  • Direct interaction with all external regulatory agencies (e.g. - City and/or County Planning, Public Works and Engineering departments, Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, State Fish and Game, etc.) to ensure that all required applications are processed to attain the client's current year and future business plan unit delivery goals.
  • Acquired over 200 acres of conservation land and easements to meet agency requirements for continuing development operations.
